It is a deliberately light, deliberately tongue in cheek piece that gathers the broadcaster’s biggest football voices for a faux strategy session ahead of kickoff.

Seven describes the spot as “a light-hearted look at how to ‘sell’ the biggest season of footy yet,” leaning into in-jokes and familiar personalities rather than match footage alone.

Joining McAvaney around the table are Brian Taylor, Kane Cornes, Abbey Holmes, Nick Riewoldt, Matthew Richardson, Jason Richardson and 7 News Chief Football Reporter Mitch Cleary, each pitching their own version of what fans want.
The promo also pulls in outside talent, including Geelong recruit Bailey Smith, comedian Aaron Gocs and Home and Away stalwart Ray “Alf” Meagher, who briefly appears after mistaking it for an “Alf” meeting rather than an AFL one.
