Dubai has taken a decisive step toward structured and sustainable humanitarian development as the Supervisory Committee of Rashid Villages convened its first official meeting. The session marked a turning point in transforming the initiative from vision to execution, setting governance frameworks, defining implementation priorities, and reinforcing long-term social impact goals.
Chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the inaugural meeting was held at Emirates Towers. The Supervisory Committee brings together senior officials and leaders from key sectors, reflecting the multidimensional nature of the initiative.
Attendees included His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Director General of the Office of the Crown Prince of Dubai, who serves as Vice Chairman of the Committee.
Also present was His Excellency Saeed Al Eter, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, alongside His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society.
Her Excellency Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Al Jalila Medical Education and Research Support Foundation, also attended, as did Hasher bin Dalmook, Director of the Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Secretary of the Committee.

Rashid Villages carries profound emotional and cultural significance. The humanitarian villages project was initiated in memory of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the late brother of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.
Launched on September 19, 2025, marking the tenth anniversary of Sheikh Rashid’s passing, the initiative embodies the values of generosity, compassion, and dedicated community service that defined his legacy. The project transforms remembrance into action—ensuring that humanitarian principles are translated into sustainable community structures that serve families for generations.
