The Centre on Thursday said recent amendments made by the United States to its trade deal factsheet are in line with the joint understanding reached between the two countries earlier this month.
Responding to queries on India-US trade negotiations, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) referred to the India-US Joint Statement issued on February 7, 2026, which outlined the framework for an Interim Agreement on reciprocal and mutually beneficial trade.
“The Joint Statement is the framework and remains the basis of our mutual understanding in the matter,” the MEA said.
The ministry added that both sides will now work towards implementing the agreed framework and finalising the Interim Agreement.
On the revisions made to the US factsheet, the government said the amendments reflect the shared understandings contained in the February 7 Joint Statement, signalling alignment between the two sides as negotiations move forward.
