A new UAE initiative is opening the door to employment opportunities for both new job seekers and retired professionals, particularly within the private security sector. Led by the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), the programme offers specialised training courses designed to prepare individuals for roles in security companies across the country.
The initiative aligns with the UAE government’s broader vision to strengthen key sectors while expanding employment pathways for professionals at different stages of their careers.
Training Programmes Designed for the Private Security Sector
According to SIRA officials, the programme provides mandatory qualification courses for new entrants seeking employment in security companies. These courses ensure participants meet industry standards and are fully prepared to work within regulated security environments.
“We provide the necessary courses that qualify new entrants to engage in the field of work in security companies,” a SIRA official said during an interview on Dubai Radio’s Direct Line programme.
In addition to entry-level training, the initiative includes refresher and transition courses for retirees looking to re-enter the workforce or shift into a new professional field.
Support for Retired Professionals and Military Personnel
The initiative places particular emphasis on supporting retired professionals, especially those with military or security backgrounds, by helping them adapt to civilian work systems.
SIRA is actively facilitating this transition by organising open-door recruitment days, where qualified candidates can meet directly with security companies and organisations that maintain in-house security departments.
These events allow job seekers to explore current vacancies while giving employers access to a pool of trained and certified candidates.
Leadership and Supervisory Roles Available
The programme goes beyond entry-level positions. Retired professionals with relevant experience may qualify for leadership and supervisory roles within the private security sector.
“The professions that are available include leadership and supervisory positions,” the SIRA official explained, noting that each candidate’s career path is determined based on their experience and the courses they complete.
This structured approach ensures individuals are placed in roles that match their qualifications while maintaining high operational standards across the sector.
Open to All Nationalities with Emiratisation Support
The initiative is open to all nationalities, reinforcing the UAE’s inclusive employment framework. However, special incentives are in place to support Emiratisation efforts.
UAE nationals are eligible for full financial support, with security training courses offered free of charge. For non-nationals, the courses remain accessible but may involve associated fees.
“The field is open to all nationalities, but for Emiratisation, UAE nationals receive full support for course fees,” the official clarified.
How to Apply for the Programme
Interested individuals, including retirees, are encouraged to visit the Security Industry Regulatory Agency headquarters, located opposite the Etisalat Academy, to have their documents reviewed and receive guidance on suitable career pathways.
The agency provides support throughout the process, helping candidates identify relevant courses and connect with potential employers in the security sector.
