The Embassy of Ukraine in Abu Dhabi has officially launched the Month of Ukraine in the UAE, a cultural and community-focused programme running from January 8 to February 15. The initiative brings together a series of cultural, educational, humanitarian and business events across the country, aiming to highlight Ukraine’s living cultural identity while fostering dialogue and connection within the UAE.
As part of the programme, the art exhibition “Echoes in Colors” opened on January 15 at the Renaissance Business Bay Hotel in Dubai. The exhibition will run until January 27, 2026, offering visitors an extended opportunity to experience contemporary Ukrainian art created by artists currently living in the UAE.
Through modern artistic expression, Echoes in Colors reflects themes of resilience, identity and continuity. The exhibition brings together Ukrainian artists who use colour, emotion and diverse visual styles to tell stories that transcend borders. From abstraction to illustration, the artworks present a wide spectrum of creative approaches while remaining deeply rooted in cultural memory and personal experience.
The exhibition features works by several Ukrainian artists, including Kateryna Plyva, Yana Rusnak, Maryna Futymska and Veronika Senkova, among others. Particular attention was drawn to Ukrainian-themed pieces by Ellina Zhyzhyna, Olena Mishchenko, Kateryna Makarova and Tetyana Udovika, whose works strongly resonated with visitors through their emotional depth and symbolism.
Guests praised the overall organisation of the event, noting the attention to detail in everything from the presentation of the artworks to the carefully curated hospitality experience. Adding to the evening’s atmosphere was a live concert by renowned Ukrainian composer and pianist Evgeny Khmara. A finalist on Ukraine Got Talent and the main pianist for X-Factor Ukraine, Khmara is regarded as a leading figure in Ukraine’s contemporary music scene.
The audience was captivated by the pianist’s virtuosity, with his performance providing a powerful musical complement to the visual storytelling of the exhibition. At the end of the evening, guests received commemorative gifts, marking a cultural gathering that brought the Ukrainian community together through art and music in Dubai.
Echoes in Colors stands as a key highlight of the Month of Ukraine in the UAE, showcasing how culture continues to serve as a bridge between communities and a voice of shared human experience.
