Overview:
Saeta USA has announced that Haiti’s official 2026 FIFA World Cup jersey will be released in March. With the timeline confirmed, excitement is building among fans—along with renewed debate over whether Vodou-inspired vèvè symbols will appear on the design again.
Haitian fans around the world will have to wait a little longer to purchase their national team’s World Cup jersey, but at least the timeline is now clear. Saeta USA, Haiti’s official kit supplier, announced this week that Les Grenadiers’ 2026 FIFA World Cup jersey will be released in March.
“The wait ends in March!” the sportswear company posted on its site. “Get ready to discover Haiti’s new official jersey on the road to the World Cup.”
The announcement has been met with enthusiasm among supporters, eager to celebrate Haiti’s return to the World Cup for the first time in 52 years. Les Grenadiers secured qualification on Nov. 18, 2025, with a 2-0 victory over Nicaragua at the historic Bataille de Vertières day. Four months later, fans will finally be able to purchase the official kit ahead of the tournament.
“I’m happy, even though they took a long time,” Jeff Peter Joseph wrote on Facebook. “I wish all of the jerseys had their own designs, so that only the color differentiates them.”
Haiti’s wait contrasts with several other World Cup-bound nations, including Colombia, Mexico, Portugal and Spain, whose kits are already available for sale. Saeta has continued to sell Haiti’s jerseys from the World Cup qualifying campaign, which drew widespread attention—and controversy — because of the vèvè-like design.
Those jerseys featured the sacred Vodou symbols, sparking debate within the Haitian community at home and abroad. While some praised the design as a bold affirmation of Haitian identity and culture, others criticized the inclusion of religious imagery.
As anticipation builds for the World Cup release, many fans are once again questioning whether Saeta will incorporate similar symbols into the new design.
“They’re taking this long so they can add even more vèvè,” Ednold Simon, another Facebook user, wrote.
On the field, Les Grenadiers are set to open their World Cup campaign on June 13 against Scotland at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. They will then face five-time champions Brazil on June 19 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, before closing the group stage against Morocco on June 24 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Whether the new jersey features Vodou symbolism or a different aesthetic altogether, its release is expected to mark a significant moment for Haitian football fans preparing for a historic World Cup run.
