Foxtel and Kayo extend ROLEX SAILGP CHAMPIONSHIP coverage

Kayo SPORTS and SailGP have confirmed a new multi-year broadcast agreement, extending a partnership that has delivered comprehensive coverage of the international sailing competition to Australian audiences since 2019.

The renewed deal ensures Australian viewers will continue to have access to every race of the Rolex SailGP Championship, with coverage available live and on demand across Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel. The agreement builds on an existing relationship that has seen the championship shown across multiple global locations since its inaugural season.

Under the arrangement, coverage will continue into the 2026 Season, which is set to begin with two events held in Australia. The opening race will be the inaugural Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix, scheduled for 17 to 18 January, followed by the KPMG Sydney Sail Grand Prix from 28 February to 1 March.

Australia’s Bonds Flying Roos will again compete in the series, led by Australian sailor and Olympic gold medallist Tom Slingsby. The team’s ownership group includes Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, who joined as co-owners in recent seasons.

Foxtel Group Head of Content Acquisitions Marissa Banu-Lawrence said the partnership had developed steadily over time.

“Our partnership with SailGP has gone from strength to strength over the past six years, driven by a shared vision to bring Australian audiences closer to the action of the sports they love.

Together, we’ve grown SailGP’s presence in Australia, connecting audiences closely to the speed, skill, and spectacle of the Championship through our coverage on Kayo SPORTS.

With the inaugural Perth Sail Grand Prix set to launch the 2026 Championship season, our renewed partnership will continue to build on that momentum as we look to connect even more fans to all the action of the world’s fastest race on water.”

SailGP CEO and co-founder Sir Russell Coutts also welcomed the extension of the agreement.

“Kayo Sports has been an incredible partner, working alongside us from the beginning. They have helped showcase the speed, spectacle and emotion of SailGP to Australian audiences as we continue to build one of the most passionate fan bases in the world.

Australia remains a flagship market for SailGP, with events in Perth and Sydney and a team that embodies the competitiveness and spirit that define our league.

We’re thrilled to continue this partnership with Kayo Sports and can’t wait to see the energy that the inaugural Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix presented by KPMG will bring to the new season.”

Founded by Sir Russell Coutts and Larry Ellison, SailGP features national teams racing identical 50-foot foiling catamarans, with speeds exceeding 100 km/h. The competition’s format combines high-speed racing with courses positioned close to shore.

The extension further adds to Kayo SPORTS’ summer programming, which also includes coverage of Australian cricket and US sports through ESPN, including the NFL, NBA and NHL, as well as the NBL.
