February 2026 is already filling up fast, and one weekend is getting quiet attention from educators across the region. On February 14 and 15, the 5th Sharjah International Summit on Improvement in Education will take place at the Sharjah Education Academy in University City. The summit is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and is organized by the Sharjah Education Academy with the Sharjah Private Education Authority. The location sits a short distance from Dubai, which keeps the event firmly within reach for regional and international participants.

What the 2026 Theme Focuses On

This year’s theme is Collaborating for Impact. The idea centers on educators, researchers, policymakers, families, and communities working with intent rather than in isolation. The summit also carries the goal Inspiring Collective Action to Transform Education, with discussion covering early childhood education, schools, higher education, and lifelong learning. The focus stays practical and current, with attention on decisions made inside real classrooms and institutions.

Three Tracks Framing the Conversations

The program follows three tracks that guide sessions and discussions throughout the two days.

Strengthening Connections for Effective Collaboration focuses on how educators and partners work together across roles. Sessions address coordination between schools, families, researchers, and policymakers, with attention on continuity in learning experiences.
Innovations in Learning centers on present-day teaching practices, artificial intelligence, digital tools, and assessment approaches. Sessions examine how instruction and evaluation adapt to current demands without drifting into theory-only discussion.
Inclusion and Empowerment addresses policies and practices related to equitable access. The track focuses on participation and opportunity for diverse learner groups, including communities that face barriers within education settings.

Session Formats and Participation

Participants take part in masterclasses, panel discussions, workshops, and symposia. A featured format is the Practitioner Pod, a 45-minute interactive session led by practitioners with direct classroom or institutional experience. Poster presentations provide space for visual data, research findings, and focused insights presented in a clear format. These session types support exchange without academic distance.

Presenter Submissions and Review Timeline

The summit follows a defined submission schedule. The call for proposals opened on August 1, 2025. Submissions close on October 26, 2025. Notifications of acceptance are scheduled for November 16, 2025.
Proposals may be submitted in English or Arabic and must be anonymized for blind peer review. Reviewers assess submissions on a scale of 1 to 5 across audience appeal, innovation, methodology rigor, potential for impact, and relevance to Sharjah and the wider MENA region.

Partners Supporting the Summit

The summit receives support from partners including Invest Bank and Sharjah Media City (Shams) as principal sponsors. These partnerships support access to tools, sessions, and discussions aimed at current education priorities.
