Boston Public Schools will be closed on Monday, February 23. All municipal buildings will be closed on Monday. Residents are encouraged to stay home. If travel is necessary, please use public transportation. Mayor Michelle Wu also declared a snow emergency ahead of the forecasted winter storm. It’s officially St. Patrick’s Day Season in the neighborhood!
South Boston Citizens Association President Tom McGrath and the Executive Board are pleased to announce that on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, at the Jimmy Flaherty Kick-off Breakfast, the Henry Knox Award Presentation will take place at the Seapoint Restaurant, 367 East 8th Street at 10am. Family, friends, and neighbors are respectfully invited to attend this wonderful event. A 20.00 donation is requested at the door to help offset costs. Hamersley’s Pantry opens this Week!
Hamersley’s Pantry is bringing something special to the neighborhood, a modern-day market that blends heart, history, and a deep love of good food. It’s a continuation of what the Hamersley family built years ago, now reimagined for today’s South Boston community. Owner Sophie Dunn is the daughter of the owners of the legendary Hamersley’s Bistro in the South End. Opening on Friday, February 27th at 12pm. To celebrate, the first 15 customers Fri – Sun will get a Pantry tote filled with a few of favorites from the shelves.
