A 22-year-old man died Monday after being pulled from a Cape Cod pond.
Mashpee emergency personnel responded to Mashpee Pond shortly after 6 p.m. for a report of a possible drowning, according to the fire department.
An off-duty Mashpee firefighter was the first to arrive on scene, and ultimately, multiple Mashpee firefighters and police officers entered the water to search for the victim, officials said. He was found at about 6:20 p.m. and taken to Falmouth Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
