Image: Entry into The Destination performance area the stage is at the far end. A great event every Thursday night with a really appreciative audience. Predominately an open air venue but with a barn for prerfomances during inclemant weather, as was used when I was there for the first time in November 2022.
16.04.26: 81-53) OPA went alright last night an’ a free supper for the night
Kitchen did one too many, didn’t cost us a penny
The asked, “would we like it?” we said “yes please” they were glad
Cos’ if foods to be given away, just ask a Yorkshire Lad
The poetry was really great, recited from the heart
But we left early cos’ this morning I got an early start
82-54) Me an’ Jojo hug an’ try not to cry as we say goodbye
It’s been great having the time to be together sharin’ our verse an’ rhyme
Ad do, other things that friends do. Places to be, places to see
New poems spoken, new ground broken
Meeting back up again should be heaven, when I get back on April 27
83-55) Good progress makin’ no need for speed records breakin’
Road good an’ clear, not at all drear
Call for breakfast, get a bit too much but I know
I can get a bag to go. So nothings wasted, when away I’ve hasted
Enjoyin’ the drive, feelin’ good to be alive
Sun comes out the care gets warm, at least it’s not a thunderstorm
An’ I got air conditionin, an’ music renditionin’

84-56) Decision I take, time for a comfort break
Feelin’ peckish, breakfast to go finished, peckishness diminished
Thought I’d rest a while but soon found out, to many greenfly about
Enough to drive you round the bend, so carry on to journeys end
85-57) Drivin’ into Midland sure was a blast
They got the roadworks done at last
No problem findin’ the motel where I’ll stay the ideal end to drivin’ today
I’m booked in an’ what’s more I can see what the rest of the day has in store
86-58) To the library, upload pics an’ poems, computer didn’t want to play
