2 injured in separate Roxbury shootings, police say

Police described the injuries as non-life threatening.

Two separate shootings in Roxbury left two people injured on Wednesday night, police said. 

The first shooting took place around 8:50 p.m. near 617 Shawmut Ave., the Boston Police Department said in a statement. 

One person was taken to a local hospital after suffering what police described as non-life-threatening injuries. 

Less than 30 minutes later, around 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a second shooting near 288 Roxbury St., police said. 

The victim in that incident was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. 

The two shootings are unrelated and are being investigated separately. Both investigations remain active, and no arrests have been made, police said.
