It’s official, 10 has confirmed Big Brother will leave the Gold Coast behind and relocate to Brisbane for its 2026 season.
As TV Blackbox reported back in June, the series was on the move, with Screen Queensland Studios in Hemmant floated as the likely new home for the reality series, presenting a very different setting after the show returned to Dreamworld and 10 last year.
The move comes after production timings failed to align with Dreamworld, while the lack of a roof over the live stage area and the proximity of park guests also presented challenges for the returning live format.

TV Blackbox understands the network was keen to keep production in Queensland, with the state’s screen incentives and the availability of a purpose-built studio helping make Brisbane an attractive alternative.

The papers are signed, the boxes are packed, and the fishbowl is bubble-wrapped. It’s official, Big Brother is moving to Brisbane.
Big Brother is on the hunt for a fresh batch of housemates, but he needs a new house to fit all that main character energy under one roof. Speaking of roofs… Big Brother might even add an awning or two.
Big Brother host, Mel Tracina, said:
“Does anyone have some spare boxes and a van we can borrow? ‘Cause Big Brother is relocating from the sunny Gold Coast to hot Bris-Vegas.”
“It’s a new location, with a new house, filled with new housemates but don’t worry – it’s still the same old scheming Big Brother in charge.”
“Oh, and I’ve been told I can leave the poncho at home. Bring on Big Brother 2026!”
Construction is officially underway at Screen Queensland Studios in Hemmant. The studios have been home to Aussie classics like Boy Swallows Universe, but they’ve never seen drama this unfiltered, this unscripted, and this unmissable. Expect a return to live evictions, live nominations, and live streaming, plus an even longer run to get totally hooked.

When it comes to the vision board, Big Brother’s tastes are a little… unconventional. His house must have gossip nooks, a diary room, “mad tuna storage”, and most importantly – unfiltered access, 24 hours a day. Queensland tradies, are you up for the task?
“The housemates will soon learn that what happens in Bris-Vegas most certainly does not stay in Bris-Vegas,” said Big Brother.
Casting applications close on August 31, so if you don’t do boring, have zero filter, and covet chaos, head to https://10.com.au/casting to apply.
If you thought you knew Big Brother, prepare to have trust issues – because this is just the start of him pulling the rug.
