Brisbane Roar’s Youstin Salas has been named Shark Player of the Month for October/November after a fan vote.
The 29-year-old’s first season in Queensland has started with a bang, as his consistent performances have been key in helping a resurgent Roar side climb the Isuzu UTE A-League ladder.
Michael Valkanis’ side are currently sat second on the ladder and hot on the heels of league leaders Sydney FC following a strong start to the season.

Featuring in all six of the matches during the voting period, Salas has proven to be a key cog in a Roar machine which chalked up three wins from their opening six games.
Salas was nominated for the Shark Player of the Month award in October/November as one of the 10 highest-rated players on FotMob’s rating system.
The 10 players with the highest FotMob rating (from 0.0 to 10.0) across each voting period are selected as the monthly nominees for the Shark Player of the Month award.
The October/November eligibility period included Rounds 1-6 of the Isuzu UTE A-League season, with games between October 17 and November 30 considered in the FotMob rating system.

Salas accrued a FotMob average rating of 7.59 through the eligibility period to earn his Shark Player of the Month nomination.
In the fan vote, the Costa Rican international finished ahead of the likes of Auckland FC midfielder Louis Verstraete and Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne to clinch the October/November award.
