With just a few weeks left before 2025 wraps up, Google has released its annual list of Pakistan’s most searched athletes, and the top name has taken many fans by surprise.
Despite the long list of breakout Pakistani performers this year, it was India’s Abhishek Sharma who Pakistanis Googled more than any other athlete in 2025.
Abhishek Sharma dominated headlines during the 2025 Asia Cup, especially after his explosive performances against Pakistan. His ruthless batting run, over 300 tournament runs, and a historic peak of 926 rating points in the ICC T20I rankings made him the world’s top-ranked T20I batter.
He currently sits comfortably at No. 1 with 920 points, and his displays against the Men in Green turned him into one of the most talked-about cricketers in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Rising Stars Fill the Next Spots
Right behind Sharma is Hassan Nawaz, whose turbulent but memorable debut tour of New Zealand instantly caught the public’s attention. After starting with back-to-back ducks, the young batter stunned fans by smashing the fastest T20 century by a Pakistani, making him one of the year’s most searched athletes.
In third place is Irfan Khan Niazi, who made waves by leading the Pakistan Shaheens to a dominant showing at the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025.
Fourth on the list is opener Sahibzada Farhan, whose aggressive strokeplay, including two standout fifties against India in the Asia Cup, made him a fan favourite and a frequent Google search.
The fifth most searched player is veteran seamer Muhammad Abbas, who continues to attract interest for his dependable performances and return to form in the red-ball format.
