You and I Are Polar Opposites Highlights Main Opening Theme in 4th New Trailer

A fourth new trailer has been released for the upcoming You and I Are Polar Opposites TV anime series, which highlights the main opening theme “Megane wo Hazushite” by Japanese singer noa. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on January 11, 2026. 

An English-subtitled version of the fourth trailer was also released. 

Takakazu Nagatomo (SHOSHIMIN Episode 3 and 8 storyboarder and director et al.) is directing the anime series, with Teruko Utsumi (Sarazanmai co-series screenwriter and co-scriptwriter, model producer) as series composer and animation producer, Mako Miyako as character designer, Naho Kozono (Undead Murder Farce) as sub-character designer and co-chief animation director, and tofubeats as music composer. Lapin Track is handling the animation production.

Other staff include Sayuri Sakimoto and Kazuko Hayakawa as chief animation supervisors, Rie Maehara and Tamami Izawa as main animators, Yuki Akimoto (SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary, Takopi’s Original Sin) as color designer, and Tomoyuki Shiokawa (SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary) as composting director. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast will star:

The romantic comedy manga series by Kocha Agasawa began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ on May 2, 2022 and concluded on November 25, 2024 (the same day as the anime’s announcement). The manga first began as a one-shot in 2021. The series is published digitally in English on the MANGA Plus app and website.

Crunchyroll will stream the anime series in select countries and territories worldwide.

VIZ Media licensed the You and I Are Polar Opposites manga for English print release, describing the main premise of volume one as: 

Suzuki’s a high school girl in love, but the guy she’s fallen for is nothing like her! While she’s cheerful, outgoing, and always trying to fit in, her classmate Yusuke Tani is stoic, quiet, and doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. Will Suzuki be able to overcome her anxieties and ask him out, or will she discover that opposites really don’t attract?
