The Nedumangad police have registered a case against a Youth Congress leader for allegedly filming his vote on his mobile phone and posting it on social media during the local body elections on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as S.S. Syedali of Kaipadi in Nedumangad. He allegedly recorded the voting process inside the polling booth and uploaded the video on Instagram.
He has been booked under Sections 192 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 128 (maintenance of secrecy of voting) and 132 (misconduct at the polling station) of the Representation of the People Act.
