Worcester State Picked to Repeat as MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Champions

Westfield, Mass.— After claiming their first-ever tournament title, Worcester State looks to repeat as the 2026 MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Champions as voted on by the coaches around the league. 
The Lancers earned six first place votes to sit in the top spot of this year’s poll. They were 5-1 in league action last season and bring back All-Conference honoree Mckayla Fisher who finished with 35 goals and nine assists for 57 points, 66 ground balls, 96 draw controls and 31 caused turnovers.

Sitting in second place is Framingham State with the final two first place votes. The Rams were 4-2 during conference action. In goal, Bella DiMare was third in the league with 10 wins and win percentage at 55.6, fourth with 139 saves and fifth in save percentage at 44.4.

 

Westfield State is third in this year’s poll. The Owls were also 5-1 in league play to earn a share of the regular season title. The team looks to Mercedes Rozzi who netted 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points last season along with 19 draws, 17 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Landing in fourth with is Bridgewater State who were also 4-2 in MASCAC competition in 2025. Returning for the Bears is reigning MASCAC Rookie of the Year Sara Skaff after finishing first in the league with 13 wins which is the fourth-highest single season total in school history. Started 18 of 19 games this season with a 9.97 goals against average, 48.3 save percentage and 153 saves on the year. 

 

Coming in a three-way tie for fifth in this year’s poll is Fitchburg State, Mass. Maritime and Salem State. Last season for the Falcons, Jessica St. George earned All-Conference accolades after she racked up 29 points on 26 goals and three assists with 41 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. She was tied for the team lead with 60 draw controls. 

 

For the Buccaneers, Brady Deschamps returns after tallying 14 points on 12 goals and two assists while collecting 29 draw controls, 16 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.

For the Vikings, Jordan Turcotte amassed 62 points on 46 goals and 16 assists along with 32 draw controls, 15 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.

 

Rounding out the 2026 preseason poll is Anna Maria with the eighth spot. The AMCATS will compete in their first season as part of the MASCAC and look to goalie Grace Holden who last season finished with 220 saves, a 50.1 save percentage and two wins.

 

The MASCAC women’s lacrosse teams begin the 2026 campaign over the next few weeks with non-conference action while conference play begins on March 28.
