Winter School Timings Extended Across the Province

The School Education and Literacy Department on Sunday extended the revised school timings across Sindh until February 4 due to the ongoing cold wave.

Under the decision, all public and private educational institutions will continue to begin classes at 9 am, while closing timings will remain unchanged.

The Sindh Education Department had first announced the revised timings on January 10, directing schools across the province to open at 9 am amid severe cold weather.

A notification issued by the department stated that, in continuation of the January 10 order, the revised timings for all educational institutions under its administrative control will remain in effect until February 4.

A spokesperson for the education department said the decision was taken due to intensified cold conditions across Sindh. Acting on the directives of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the department extended the revised timings, the spokesperson added.

The department had earlier extended the revised school timings until January 26 in response to the cold wave affecting the province.
