Love Velo Vines is a celebration of the Santos Tour Down Under with a day-to-night event set among the vines. The crew are inviting locals and visitors to get in on the fun that race day brings with a free garden party followed by an optional, ticketed long table dinner.
Kicking off at 2:30pm, the Love Velo Vines Garden Party will be a relaxed, free event hosted by the City of Onkaparinga, designed for anyone wanting to enjoy the Tour Down Under atmosphere without missing out on the finer things in life. Guests are encouraged to sprawl out on the lawns of Richard Hamilton Wines, where live music, entertainment and perfect summer vibes for an afternoon of easy enjoyment. Attendees will have a front row seat to the THINK! Road Safety Men’s Stage 4: Brighton to Willunga Hill, which will be streamed live on the big screen, so you won’t miss a single moment of the iconic Willunga Hill climb finish.
Of course, this is McLaren Vale, so food and wine take centre stage. There will be beers, soft drinks and a top-notch lineup of wines from Leconfield and Richard Hamilton available for purchase, plus picnic platters and food options perfect for grazing as the race unfolds.
For those looking to keep the good vibes rolling into the evening, the celebration continues with the Love Velo Vines Long Table Dinner, a ticketed experience starting from 5:30pm. Following the race finish, guests will be welcomed with canapés and drinks before sitting down to a generous shared feast featuring seasonal, locally sourced produce. Guided by the chef and a wine specialist, diners will be taken through each course with wine pairings and the stories behind both the menu and the region.
