After the Asia Cup’s disastrous ending, Pakistan bounced back in style. They defeated South Africa in the series, and the winning streak continued as Pakistan delivered a thrilling victory over Sri Lanka in the T20 Tri-Series final. Their strong batting and powerful bowling made the win even more spectacular. Pakistan were dominant throughout the T20 Tri-Series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, winning almost all their matches against both teams. They lost one game to Sri Lanka, but they balanced the scales by beating them in the final.
Solid bowling display by Pakistani bowlers:
Sri Lanka’s batting collapse, losing 9 wickets for just 30 runs, was a turning point in the match. Pakistan’s spinners, who have been good throughout the T20 Tri-Series, particularly Mohammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed, played a crucial role in restricting Sri Lanka to 114 runs, with Abrar taking 2 wickets and Nawaz being the key performer with 3 wickets, with an economy of 4.25. Shaheen Afridi’s 3 wickets, and Saim and Salman Mirza’s bowling, also contributed significantly to Pakistan’s victory over Sri Lanka in the T20 Tri-Series.
Batting’s role:
Chasing a modest target of 115, Pakistan’s openers Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan laid a strong foundation with a 46-run partnership. Babar Azam’s unbeaten 37 off 34 balls, Agha Salman’s 14 runs helped Pakistan secure victory over Sri Lanka with 8 balls remaining at Rawalpindi.

Agha Salman said,
“It was a great performance from us. This has been very good two months for us, against South Africa and Sri Lanka. We’ve been doing well in both ODIs and T20s.”
Another Achievement for M. Nawaz:
Another day, another achievement unlocked for Babar’s match winner. M. Nawaz has been spectacular throughout the series, dominating with his spin game, and he stole the show in the final game too. He ended up being awarded the third Player of the Match award in the final of the T20 Tri-Series, the most by any player. Now, with four PoTM awards, he only needs one more to surpass Shoaib Malik.
He says,
“To deliver when the team requires you is very important. I try to read the game and bowl accordingly. I try to see what the situation demands.”

As the captain Agha Salman says,
“Before going to the World Cup, you want your 15 players ready. If anything happens to your main players, you want to have the back-up ready. So we are giving chances to everyone. I think we are pretty much ready for the World Cup. We still have six games before the World Cup to try out things if we want, but I think we are pretty much clear on our 15 players”.
