New to the Neighborhood – Common Craft
Common Craft South Boston is officially open, and the team behind it brings strong culinary credentials. The restaurant has tapped James Beard Award–winning chef Tony Messina as Chef Partner. The East Boston native, who took home Best Chef: Northeast in 2019, brings both national recognition and deep local roots to the project. The central part of the concept is The Current — a rotating menu focus that explores one theme at a time, whether that’s a particular ingredient, place, technique, or person. The idea is to keep things evolving and creative, with each chapter diving into the inspiration behind the food. Founder and Managing Partner Larry Leibowitz (also of Salem’s Kokeshi and Bambolina) sees food as the anchor, with storytelling and thoughtful technique shaping the experience. Come on down, Southie… It’s time to play everyone’s favorite seasonal game, Gutter Bingo! The snow is gone, and over the winter, lots of trash and dirt have accumulated along our street gutters in the neighborhood. With street cleaning right around the corner, consider this your official kickoff to play Gutter Bingo. Keep an eye on the curb as you walk by; you never know what you’ll spot before the street sweepers come through next week. Will it be a Fireball nip? A mystery sock? Maybe a losing scratch ticket? Petula’s Early Hours Spring Menu
The first day of spring is March 20th! The weather might not be cooperating, but Petula’s is transporting us to better weather with their spring menu! They are offering a Honey Lavender Latte, Strawberry Latte, Vanilla Rose Matcha, Peach Tea, and Sparkling Apricot Limeade. Early Hours are from 7am to 11am on Fridays and 8am to 1pm on Saturday and Sunday. Order ahead here!
