A video obtained by 7 News Boston shows three correctional officers apparently fighting inside an elevator at the Suffolk County House of Correction early Saturday morning.
The video, timestamped at around 7:30 a.m., according to 7 New Boston, shows three women standing at the elevator entrance. Something triggers the women when one knocks a cup of coffee out of another’s hand, and the two begin fighting.
The third woman, holding a plate with two bananas, also falls to the ground as she tries to pull them apart, with the fight continuing onto the elevator floor.
The elevator door closes and reopens, revealing a fourth officer who also tries to break up the fight.
Two male officers eventually come and manage to drag the two women apart.
In a statement shared with Boston.com, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department said the incident involved three correction officers. There were no inmates or detainees present.
The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department said it is investigating the incident.
“The Department will take the appropriate disciplinary action warranted by the results of the investigation,” the statement said.
