Victory Team will begin their 2026 UIM F1H2O World Championship campaign at the Grand Prix of Sardinia in Cagliari from May 29 to 31.
The Dubai-based team go into the new season as defending world champions after winning the Formula 1 world title for the first time in their history last year. They also added the XCAT World Championship crown, their seventh in that series.
Cagliari will host the opening round of the F1H2O season for the first time since 2004.
Ahmed Al Samaiti, director of the sports teams department at Dubai International Marine Sports Club, said Victory have kept faith with the same driver line-up that delivered success last season.
Shaun Torrente, Alec Weckstrom and Ahmed Al Fahim have all had their contracts renewed for the new campaign.
Torrente was central to Victory’s title win last season. The American secured his fourth individual world championship and his first since joining the Dubai team.
Al Samaiti said the coming season is expected to be Torrente’s last before retirement.
Victory say preparations are already under way for the new campaign, with the team aiming to defend their F1H2O title and challenge again across the board.
For a team that carried the UAE flag to the top of the sport last season, the next step is clear enough. They return to the water in May with a title to protect and a final season ahead for one of the sport’s most decorated drivers.
