The Vakkam Maulavi Memorial Lecture and Award Presentation, organised by the Vakkam Maulavi Memorial and Research Center, Vakkam, Thiruvananthapuram, will be held at Christchurch Centenary Hall, Palayam, at 5 p.m. on December 29.
Author Khadija Mumtaz will deliver the lecture on the topic “Muslim Women – Vakkam Maulavi’s Perspective and Its Relevance Today.”
The event will be presided over by Suja Susan George, writer and former director of the Malayalam Mission. Senior journalist G. Priyadarshan will present the Vakkam Maulavi Award. On the occasion, the book Movements of Renaissance: The Complete Works of Vakkam Maulavi, edited by K.M. Seethi, will also be released.
