US Marine reservists expressed frustration and confusion after receiving a letter from Lieutenant General Leonard F. Anderson IV, commander of Marine Forces Reserve. He told them to ensure full readiness for deployment to Iran.
The notice instructed reservists to check their gear, ensure their skills and training were current, and organize personal affairs in anticipation of mobilization orders. It said readiness is assumed, not optional, and that forces are already engaged in operations connected to Iran while maintaining stability in the Western Hemisphere.
The letter, shared by multiple reservists on Reddit, got several angry responses. One Marine wrote, “The hell is this… never been deployed, is this like a go [expletive] before we start prep or something. So confused what the hell my leadership just sent me.”
The communication stressed that preparation is a daily commitment, not a theoretical exercise, and concluded with a forceful exhortation: “FIGHT’S ON!”
Other US veterans posted on Reddit that the latest deployment call points to tougher operational tempo in the coming weeks, or months.
Some unapologetic US citizens posted that fresh military recruits underestimate the possibility of being called up for war. One wrote, ‘You’re going to the sandbox, Devil. This is what you stood on those yellow footprints for.’
