After a powerful winter storm swept across the United States on January 24, New York City has been covered in a thick blanket of snow.
The freak weather event threatened 235 million Americans with power outages, transportation mayhem, and bone-chilling cold.
According to CBS News, Central Park recorded a whopping 22cm of snow in Sunday’s storm, the most ever recorded on January 25.

Those who have to leave the house only do so with plenty of layers, as temperatures have stayed well below freezing for days on end.
At least 38 people across 14 states have died the storm. Ten of victims were in New York City, where temperatures were the coldest they had been in eight years, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said at a news conference on Tuesday, when the low hit minus 13C.

While the 10 victims were found outside, it was not clear whether they were homeless.
Mr Mamdani told reporters Monday that some of the dead “had had interactions with our shelter system in the past. It is still too early to share a broader diagnosis or a cause of death”.
Massive chunks of ice have formed on the Hudson River, prompting the cancellation of all NYC Ferry services on Wednesday.
