Six people were killed, and several others injured after a bus collided with a truck in Uttra Pradesh’s Hapur, police said.
According to SP Gyananjay Singh, the bus was carrying passengers returning from a wedding procession when it crashed into the truck. Police teams rushed to the spot immediately, launched an investigation, and began relief work. The victims were taken to a hospital, where six were declared dead on the spot, while seven injured persons are undergoing treatment.
Singh said the truck has been removed from the site and traffic has returned to normal. Family members of the victims have reached the location, and legal proceedings are underway. There were a total of 12 people on the bus, and one of them remains unidentified, possibly the driver.
In a similar incident on April 11, at least 10 people were killed and around 25-30 others injured in a horrific road accident in Bihar’s Katihar district.
The accident took place near Gerabari when a pickup vehicle collided head-on with a bus on National Highway 31, near the Korha-Phulwaria Basgadha stretch.
According to police, all the victims were members of the tribal community and were returning to their homes from Jharkhand. The deceased include both men and women. The pickup vehicle bore the brunt of the collision, leading to the deaths of all 10 occupants.
