A night out in South Boston took a violent turn over the weekend after a reported fight at a neighborhood bar led to two people being stabbed.
According to the Boston Herald, Boston Police were called to Tom English’s Cottage around 10:30 p.m. Friday for a fight in progress. When officers arrived, one person told police he had been sucker punched during the altercation and pointed out another man he described as the main aggressor.
Police conducted a pat frisk of the suspect but did not find a weapon. According to the report, the man told officers he had actually been jumped by the other group and didn’t cooperate with additional details.
Both the suspect and the initial victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
About an hour later, however, three additional people went to the police station to report that two members of their group had been stabbed during the same fight. One of the individuals told police the confrontation started during a dispute over a game of pool when the suspect allegedly kept moving coins placed on the table.
The group told police they were later told to meet outside, and after a bouncer removed everyone from the bar, a larger fight broke out on the street. According to the report, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife during the altercation.
The victims said they ran from the scene fearing for their safety. Officers later observed injuries on two of the individuals, and EMS was called to treat them.
Boston Police have not confirmed whether any arrests were made in connection with the incident.
