The Minnesota Twins are parting ways with President of Baseball Operations Derek Falvey, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported on Friday.
Derek Falvey is out as president of baseball and business operations for the Minnesota Twins, according to the team. General manager Jeremy Zoll will run baseball operations while Tom Pohlad, who took over as the team’s control person in December, will temporarily run business.

Falvey has built a notable career in Major League Baseball, starting with the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) in 2007 as an intern in baseball operations. He advanced steadily through roles there, including assistant director and director of baseball operations by 2015, gaining experience in analytics, player development, and scouting.
In October 2016, Falvey joined the Twins as Executive Vice President and Chief Baseball Officer. He became President of Baseball Operations in 2019, overseeing roster construction, player acquisitions, and strategic direction. Under his guidance, the Twins achieved a 690-666 record (.509 winning percentage) from 2017 through 2025.

The club reached the postseason four times, capturing the AL Wild Card in 2017 and winning the AL Central Division in 2019, 2020, and 2023. Key moves included hiring manager Rocco Baldelli ahead of the 2019 season, which produced a 101-win campaign (the second-most in franchise history) and securing talents like Carlos Correa via a major free-agent signing.
