I am thrilled to be running my 3rd Boston Marathon. This year, I am running in support of The Vanessa Marcotte Foundation. As a female police officer, I am truly inspired by the mission that is at the forefront of this organization.
The Vanessa Marcotte Foundation highlights the importance of violence prevention, self-defense, female empowerment, and taking the necessary steps to stay safe during day-to-day activities. They strive to promote a world where women can live fearlessly and be free from harassment and violence. It is my goal that running for this foundation will allow me to further use my position to advocate for women’s empowerment and spread awareness regarding violence against women.
With my experience working as a police officer, I see firsthand the struggles that women face every day. I feel fortunate that I can help contribute each day to ensure that those who use violence against women are held accountable. I understand the weight that comes with the decisions made every day and know the impact they can have on the lives of others forever.
I am truly so proud and honored to be in a position where I can make such an impact in the community. Running on this team allows me to be an example for other women to show them that they can do hard things and that they are much stronger than they think they are. It is an incredible feeling to be able to combine my profession as a police officer with my love for running to advocate and raise money for this outstanding cause.
