Two new cast members have been added for the upcoming The Ogre’s Bride TV anime series. The anime adaptation is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan sometime in 2026.
The new cast includes Momoka Terasawa as Sou and Miyu Kobashi as Ao.
They join a voice cast that stars Saori Hayami as the main heroine Yuzu Shinonome and Yuichiro Umehara as Reiya Kiryuin.
Kazuhito Omiya (Obey Me! Season 2) is directing the anime series, with Yumi Kamakura as series composer and Hikari Tanaka as character designer. Colored Pencil Animation Japan is in charge of the animation production.
The romantic fantasy light novel series is written by Kureha and illustrated by Yu Shiroya. It was first published by Starts Publishing on October 28, 2020 and has released nine volumes as of May 2024.
The series originated as a short story that won Starts Publishing’s first Novema! Character Tanpen Shosetsu Contest, which had the theme of “ayakashi x romance.” It was serialized as a web novel on the Novema platform in 2019.
A manga drawn by Jun Togashi was released in December 2021. It won the main prize at Comic Cmoa’s Minna ga Erabu!! Denshi Comic Taisho 2023.
A live-action film adaptation of the series will also debut in Japanese theaters on March 27, 2026.

MangaPlaza releases the manga adaptation of The Ogre’s Bride in English digitally, describing the main synopsis as:

The ayakashi and humans coexist in harmony. The ayakashi, having superior abilities and beautiful appearances, sometimes find their partner among human women, making them their “bride”.
