The anime adventures of Elaina the witch will continue with a newly announced Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina movie. A comment from the light novels’ author Jogi Shiraishi on the anime’s website confirms that it is a sequel.
A teaser video and an illustration from the books’ illustrator Azure were released with the announcement.
Last September, an illustration for the Fall 2020 Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina TV anime — which teased a new, Konomi Kohara-voiced character called Amnesia.at the end — was released ahead of the show’s fifth anniversary. It teased that “The journey continues… a new project is underway!”
Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina follows the titular character as she journeys around the world, becoming involved with various people and situations in the process. The SB Creative-published light novel series began in 2016 under the GA Novel label and will release its 25th volume on March 14, 2026 JST. There are spin-offs, a manga, and an English release from Yen Press.

The TV anime was produced by C2C, with direction by Toshiyuki Kubooka (Shangri-la Frontier, Harukana Receive) and character designs from Takeshi Oda (Otaku Elf). The cast includes Kaede Hondo as Elaina, Kana Hanazawa as Elaina’s master Fran, Tomoyo Kurosawa as another young witch called Saya, and Yoko Hikasa as Saya’s master Sheila.
Muse Asia and Crunchyroll are streaming the anime, with the latter describing it as such:
