The Kerala Postal Circle emerged as the overall winner by securing 10 first prizes and one second prize, earning a total of 53 points, in the first day’s competitions of the five-day 38th All India Postal Cultural Meet being held in Mysuru.
On the first day, February 16, the Karnataka Postal Circle secured second position with five first prizes, seven second prizes and one third prize, collecting 47 points. The third position went to the Odisha Postal Circle, which won two first prizes, one second prize and one third prize, totaling 14 points.
Among the winners from Kerala Postal Circle, Srihari won in the junior category of Carnatic classical music, Teertha Prakash secured first place in the senior category, and Vishnu Vijay emerged winner in the senior categories of flute and mridangam performances.
From Karnataka Postal Circle, Girish R. won first place in the senior categories of Carnatic classical and light music. Charmi S (junior light music – Carnatic style), R. Chandrashekhar (senior ghatam and mridangam), Pratham K.R. (junior flute), Diksha J. (senior veena), Abhigna (junior Carnatic classical music), and Pradyum Kaushik C.G. (senior violin) are among the winners.
Hridhya Manikaranika won in the junior category of Kuchipudi dance, while Sameeksha Mohanty won in the senior category. Abhijit Mahapatra won in the junior category of Hindustani classical music from Odisha Postal Circle, according to a press release.
Organised by India Post and hosted by the Karnataka Postal Circle, the cultural meet is being held at the Postal Training Centre and Karnataka State Open University in Mysuru. A total of 335 officials representing 21 postal circles from across the country are participating in the event.
