England have not covered themselves in glory on this Ashes tour on or off the field, as they lashed out at a Adelaide reporter just hours after their security got physical with a Channel 7 camera in Brisbane.
The English team’s four-day holiday in Noosa appeared not to refresh the tourists as they had hoped with Ben Stokes seemingly feeling the heat of his side’s poor start.
The England captain bristled at a reporter’s attempt to ask him questions upon his arrival in Adelaide, taking umbrage with the journo filming him.

“He’s just been recording me that whole time without telling me,” he told his crew.
“I would have gladly said something to you if you had made yourself aware to me.
“He’s just been behind me recording like everything I was saying.”
It was then a member of their security stepped in, fresh off arm-barring a Seven camera operator at the Brisbane airport.

“You don’t have to put your phone down, but it’s nice if you did,” he said. “It’s good that we live in a world these days with these kinds of freedoms, isn’t it?”
The security guard reportedly mouthed the word “pr**k” at the reporter before walking away with the team.
Stokes’ captaincy is under the spotlight as he cut a despondent figure after their loss in Brisbane and he could be facing the axe along with coach Brendand McCullum if they cannot turn around their Ashes trip.
After their altercation with Seven camera operator Nick Carrigan in Brisbane, the Network was seeking a please explain from the English camp.

“Earlier today, there was an incident at Brisbane Airport involving a 7NEWS camera operator and a member of the England Cricket team’s travelling party,” they said.
“While conducting routine filming in a public space, the camera operator was physically confronted despite acting respectfully and professionally.
“The safety and wellbeing of our staff is paramount. This matter is being taken seriously and is now being managed through the appropriate channels.”
