That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Begins in April 2026, Will Have 5 Cours

The fourth season of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime will premiere in April 2026. It will have five cours, with the first two broadcasting consecutively.

The TV anime’s return will happen not long after the Japanese premiere of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea (Gekijoban Tenseishitara Slime Datta Ken: Sokai no Namida-hen) on February 27, 2026. The movie, the second one for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, will be distributed theatrically by Crunchyroll worldwide sans “most Asian territories.”

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is inspired by Taiki Kawakami‘s Kodansha-published manga adaptation of Fuse’s isekai fantasy light novels, which is serialized in Monthly Shonen Sirius. The manga began in 2015 and will release its 31th volume in Japan on February 9, 2026. Kodansha USA describes the synopsie as such:

As players of Monster Hunter and Dungeons & Dragons know, the slime is not exactly the king of the fantasy monsters. So when a 37-year-old Tokyo salaryman dies and wakes up in a world of dragons and magic, he’s a little disappointed to find he’s become a blind, boneless slime monster.

Mikami’s middle age hasn’t gone as he planned: He never found a girlfriend, he got stuck in a dead-end job, and he was abruptly stabbed to death in the street at 37. So when he wakes up in a new world straight out of a fantasy RPG, he’s disappointed but not exactly surprised to find that he’s not a knight or a wizard but a blind slime demon. But there are chances for even a slime to become a hero…

The first season of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime debuted in 2018. There is also a spin-off titled The Slime Diaries and an OVA based on the short story that inspired 2022’s That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond.
