“I can’t continue to live without dignity” were the last words of a 22-year-old woman from Telangana before she died by suicide while filming herself. In the video, she blamed a relative, alleging that he had “destroyed” her life by forcibly injecting her with HIV-infected blood.
The victim, a resident of Telangana’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district on the outskirts of Hyderabad, said the issue began when Manohar, a distant relative, expressed his love for her. She initially rejected his proposal but later agreed to the relationship.
Manohar was arrested last month for allegedly injecting HIV-infected blood into the woman.
The woman revealed that during a constable recruitment medical examination, Manohar tested positive for HIV. Following this, she said they stopped communicating. However, he later contacted her again, claiming he had been living for nearly 20 years without medication and assured her that nothing would happen to her either.
She further alleged that in 2025, during her sister’s wedding preparations, she disclosed their relationship and the issue to her family.
Subsequently, both underwent HIV tests again, in which Manohar tested positive, while she tested negative. Her parents reportedly warned her that marrying him would ruin her life.
Later, in February, a marriage proposal came for her, but it was put on hold due to the death of her uncle. She alleged a few days later, Manohar came to her house and forcibly administered an injection.
She claimed that she immediately informed her friend about the incident on the same day. She also alleged that some people spread false rumours about her, further affecting her mental state.
In the video, she mentioned that she did not immediately seek medical help after the incident, as she was already contemplating suicide.
