Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy set an ambitious roadmap for Telangana’s long-term economic transformation, declaring that the State is poised to become one of India’s most developed regions and a global growth hub by 2047 and gave the call “Telangana Rising is unstoppable. Come, join the rise.”

Speaking at the inaugural session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit-2025 held at Bharat Future City on Monday (December 8, 2025), the Chief Minister said the State draws inspiration from India’s freedom struggle, its Constitution and the decade-long movement for Statehood.

Mr. Reddy said that just as India’s founding fathers drafted a new destiny for the nation, Telangana too is now engaged in a similar exercise taking inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

Recalling the prolonged struggle for a separate Telangana, he credited the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) leadership, Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the statehood decision in 2014. “Now, after ten years, we are trying not only to become India’s most developed state but also competing to be one of the best in the world,” he declared.

Outlining the State’s economic ambitions, he said Telangana aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Though the State accounts for 2.9% of India’s population, it currently contributes around 5% to the national GDP. “By 2047, I want Telangana to contribute 10% of India’s GDP,” the Chief Minister said.

Citing the example of Guangdong province in China, he said Telangana aims to replicate its rapid industrialisation and investment-driven growth through the three zone economic model. The Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) focusses on high-end services, Peri Urban Region Economy (PURE) focusses on manufacturing and allied sectors and the Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE) is dedicated to boosting agricultural productivity and rural development.

Telangana wants to draw inspiration from global leaders such as China, Japan, Germany, South Korea and Singapore, and has invited them to collaborate in the State’s growth journey.

Mr. Reddy said Telangana’s blue print for 2047 — coinciding with India’s centenary year of independence — is a reflection of the consultative process including the views of citizens, officers, Central Government, the Indian School of Business, and NITI Aayog. They all helped shape this vision,” he said.

He said the robust participation of industry leaders, diplomats, policy experts and global businesses at the summit strengthened his belief that Telangana’s rise is imminent. “I see you as partners and stakeholders in this journey. With your support, we can achieve all our goals,” he said.
