Team Win became the first champions crowned at the Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025 on Friday night, winning the MOBA PC Dota 2 grand final at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
They beat Vikings 2–0 in the final of the eight-team competition to take the opening title of the six-day event. The Dota 2 tournament carries a prize pool of $175,000.
Team Win support player Rastsislau Rostik Pratasenia said:
“We’re happy with how we played. The plan was simple. Now we move on to the next event in Astana.”
Elsewhere on day two, the Battle Royale featuring Fortnite also delivered its champions. After 12 matches across two nights, Kami and Swizzy finished top of the leaderboard with 58 eliminations and 140 points to claim the main share of the $700,000 prize pool. ZYRO and RAPID took second after winning the final match.
In Phygital Basketball 3×3, UzBig Team edged BAD BOYS 31–30. UzBig won the digital phase 19–14 but were outscored 16–12 on the court, holding on when BAD BOYS missed a late game-winning attempt. UzBig will face Great Team Brazil next.
Great Team Brazil had earlier lost to Adria All Stars, who advanced after a 37–33 win.
At Pixoul, the off-site MOBA Mobile MLBB tournament saw RRQ Hoshi, Aurora Gaming, Aurora Gaming PH and ONIC progress straight to the quarter-finals.
Battle of Robots also drew large crowds. GOLDEN FURY, built by PY ROBOTICSZ, defeated Toon’s TR4 after repeated vertical spinner attacks left its opponent disabled.
In Phygital Football, Z10 overturned a 4–0 digital loss to United FC by winning the physical match 4–0, then sealing the tie on penalties. MÉXICO QUETZALES – ARMADILLOS FC also advanced after recovering from a digital defeat to beat UEL TEAM on the pitch.
The Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025 runs until December 23. More than 850 athletes from over 60 countries are competing across 11 disciplines that combine digital competition with live sport.
