The 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup was concluded on Sunday, March 8, after India recorded a record of winning the title for the third time, the most by any team. They also defended the title and won it as the host nation, a feat no team has ever achieved. In a competition co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, players from 20 countries performed. As always, we picked the best Team of T20 World Cup 2026.

The Green Team’s jury picked the best 12-man squad based on the collection of players’ stats and their impact on their performances.

Three players have been picked from the winning Indian side, with two each coming from runners-up New Zealand, England and South Africa, while one each from Pakistan and Zimbabwe.

Team of T20 World Cup 2026 – Top Order

1. Sahibzada Farhan (PAK)

7 Matches | 383 Runs | 76.60 Average | 160.25 Strike Rate | 2 Fifties | 2 Hundreds | 100* High-score

Pakistan don’t have a tournament to remember. But Farhan does. In his first appearance, Sahibzada Farhan broke Virat Kohli’s 12-year-old record of most runs in a single edition of the World Cup. He also proceeded to score two centuries, the most in a single edition. All of them are coming on the slower wickets of Sri Lanka. One can imagine if he had batted on the flat wickets of India, and he might have scored over 450.

2. Tim Seifert (NZ | Wicket-Keeper)

9 Matches | 326 Runs | 46.57 Average | 166.32 Strike Rate | 4 Fifties | 89* High-score

New Zealand’s best batter of the tournament and one of the most consistent performers. Tim Seifert is also our Dream Team’s wicket-keeper, having officiated seven dismissals, the third-most in this tournament. He also scored the most runs by a New Zealand batter in the tournament. Seifert was involved in two dominating with his opening partner, Finn Allen. In the final, where the rest of the Kiwi batters struggled, Seifert piled up his fifty, his fourth in the tournament and joint-most fifty-plus scores in this tournament alongside Farhan.

3. Sanju Samson (IND)

5 Matches | 321 Runs | 80.25  Average | 199.37 Strike Rate | 2 Fifties | 97* High-score

The Player of the Tournament and the man who defined India’s run-chases. Sanju Samson was in doubt before the tournament; he scored just 46 runs in five games against New Zealand and was dropped in the initial phases. But when he was called back, he did not disappoint. He scored 97 not out against the West Indies chasing 190s, and twin 89s where India piled up 250+ scores in both semi-final and final. Imagine if he had played all the matches, he could have been the highest run-getter.

4. Aiden Markram (SA | Captain)

8 Matches | 286 Runs | 47.66 Average | 165.31 Strike Rate | 3 Fifties | 86* High-score

The captain of our Dream Team. Aiden Markram and his South Africa looked invincible throughout the tournament, and went as far as handling India’s second defeat in ICC tournaments over the past four years. And Markram himself was astonishing with the bat, apart from his last game, where New Zealand hammered them in the semi-final. Nevertheless, he was outstanding as a captain, leading his Proteas to the final four.

5. Shimron Hetmyer (WI)

7 Matches | 248 Runs | 41.33 Average | 186.46 Strike Rate | 2 Fifties | 85 High-score

Shimron Hetmyer was brilliant for the West Indies in the tournament. He was their leading run-scorer and provided them with the finishing touches. Scoring two fifties and striking at 186, no one takes the no.5 place better than Hetmyer.

6. Sikandar Raza (ZIM)

6 Matches | 206 Runs | 51.50 Average | 164.80 Strike Rate | 1 Fifty | 73 High-score
5 Wickets | 36.00 Average | 9.00 Economy | 3-29 Best figures

The man who led Zimbabwe to historic wins over Australia and Sri Lanka. A victory over Australia was a game to remember, with Sikandar Raza himself leading his side with his exceptional performances. While he was not great with the ball, his batting was outstanding. He showcased his change of gears, with the game over Sri Lanka being an example. A perfect all-rounder at no.6 who can provide the six-bowling option when needed.

7. Hardik Pandya (IND)

9 Matches | 217 Runs | 27.12 Average | 160.74 Strike Rate | 52 High-score

9 Wickets | 32.33 Average | 8.81 Economy | 2-16 Best figures

India’s star in every ICC event. There is not one event where he provided India with a performance that changed the course of the match. His numbers in both batting and bowling may look slightly ordinary. But those are just numbers. His impact for India in the tournament is a big deal, and he makes it into our XI as a seam-bowling all-rounder.

8. Will Jacks (ENG)

8 Matches | 226 Runs | 56.50 Average | 176.56 Strike Rate | 53* High-score

9 Wickets | 21.66 Average | 9.75 Economy | 3-22 Best figures

The MVP of the T20 World Cup 2026. England may have missed their mark for reaching the Final, but they cannot forget Will Jacks’ contributions. He won FOUR player of the match awards in this tournament alone, the joint-most by any player. Shane Watson achieved this feat in 2012. While Watson won the Player of the Tournament in 2012, one can feel that Jacks could have been given the award for bailing England out in four of the six wins they registered.

9. Jasprit Bumrah (IND)

8 Matches | 14 Wickets | 12.42 Average | 6.21 Economy | 4-15 Best figures

He is called the superstar, and he has proven many times. He was the Player of the Tournament in the 2024 edition, when India won the title, and now has won the Player of the Match award in the Final. His economy is outstanding, and he has now broken into the top five of most wickets in T20 World Cups.

10. Lungi Ngidi (SA)

7 Matches | 12 Wickets | 15.58 Average | 7.19 Economy | 4-31 Best figures

South Africa’s best bowler of the tournament. He led the pace attack with full focus, especially when Kagiso Rabada struggled. Ngidi was brilliant against Afghanistan and was exceptional against India.

11. Adil Rashid (ENG)

8 Matches | 13 Wickets | 19.23 Average | 8.15 Economy | 3-36 Best figures

There was a debate on Adil Rashid and Varun Chakaravarty, but our jury went with Rashid. Rashid had more control in the middle-overs than Varun did in the tournament. Rashid, despite being expensive, was the key spinner in England’s winning run till the knockouts. He and Jacks paired up to form a fine combo for a spin attack.

12th Man. Rachin Ravindra (NZ)

9 Matches | 129 Runs | 25.28 Average | 134.37 Strike Rate | 59* High-score

12 Wickets | 12.41 Average | 7.84 Economy | 4-27 Best figures

Our 12th man of the tournament. Rachin Ravindra was the Player of the Tournament in last year’s Champions Trophy with his batting. This year, he was a little different. His batting was a little dry, but he was brilliant with the ball. He was the joint-third highest-wicket taker of the tournament and served as a better 12th man option on our side.
