Nostalgia runs through Tara Sutaria’s recent sartorial pick, an ivory georgette sari. Worn for a friend’s destination wedding in December 2025, the drape felt in sync with the intimacy of the occasion. Designed by Tarun Tahiliani, the fluid six-yard is a study in simplicity. The clean ivory drape is edged with an embellished pearl and crystal border, finished with shimmering crystal tassels.
The hero of her look is undoubtedly the blouse. Featuring elbow-length sleeves, it is densely embroidered with pearls, crystals and sequins. The thoughtful embellishments give the effect of jewellery worn on the body. The mirror work is structured to resemble a choker at the neckline, moving into what looks like layered, multi-string pearl necklaces draped across her torso. This trompe-l’oeil effect blurs the line between garment and adornment, making the blouse feel almost ceremonial. The high neckline further heightens its vintage appeal.
