Ante Juric with the Championship trophy
Juric leaves Sydney FC as the most successful coach in the club’s history after guiding the Sky Blues to three Championships and three Premierships during his eight-and-a-half-year tenure.
“Ante will forever be remembered as one of the most important figures in Sydney FC’s history,” Sydney FC Executive Vice Chairman Sebastian Gray said.
“On behalf of the board, we want to sincerely thank him for everything he has given to this club over eight and a half seasons, including an incredible run of success that delivered six major trophies and seven straight Grand Finals.”
Prior to the 2024-25 Ninja A-League campaign Sydney FC had set an A-Leagues record of making seven consecutive Grand Final appearances between 2018 and 2024.
However failure to play finals football in 2025 coupled with a poor start to the current campaign has led to the club making the difficult decision to part ways with their longstanding Head Coach.
Taking over from Juric will be Academy Technical Lead and NPL Assistant Coach James Slaveski, who has been appointed as Interim Ninja A-League Women’s Head Coach for the remainder of the season.
“We are delighted to elevate James from his current role and give him this opportunity,” added Gray.

“The board has been impressed by James’ work within our Academy and NPL programs, where he has demonstrated some outstanding coaching and leadership characteristics.
“We are excited to see James step into this role and lead the group for the remainder of the season.”
Slaveski will be straight to work with the Sky Blues when they host Brisbane Roar at Leichhardt Oval on Wednesday night.
