Multan Sultans batter Steve Smith has praised his teammate Sahibzada Farhan after the team’s latest win in the ongoing 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).
Speaking after Multan’s victory over Quetta Gladiators, Steve Smith said his partnership with Sahibzada Farhan has developed well and played an important role in the team’s recent performances.
Smith described Farhan as a quality player and said the opening pair has been giving Multan the kind of start needed to take control early in the innings.
The Multan batter also said it was pleasing to see the top order performing consistently, with Farhan bringing stability to the side’s batting effort.
Smith’s comments came during a post-match interaction with fellow Australian Peter Siddle, who also praised the partnership and said Smith had once again delivered with the bat.
The conversation briefly turned light-hearted when Smith addressed Siddle as “Chacha,” a nickname that has recently gained popularity around the squad.
Beyond the batting, Smith also praised Multan’s bowling display against Quetta. He singled out Mohammad Nawaz and Arafat for their performances and said the bowling unit did well to keep the opposition from posting a bigger total.
He also praised Shan Masood, saying the vice-captain is improving with each game and showing better control in his shot selection.
With Multan Sultans sitting in a strong position in the tournament, Smith said he expects the team to carry the same consistency into the next matches.
