A Star Detective Precure! (Meitantei Precure!) anime movie is set to begin screening in Japan on September 18. A teaser trailer and teaser visual have been released.
The Star Detective Precure! TV anime began airing in Japan on February 1. The synopsis from Crunchyroll reads:
On her 14th birthday, Anna Akechi meets a magical fairy and suddenly time-slips from 2027 to 1999! There, she befriends Mikuru, a spirited girl who dreams of becoming a detective. When mysterious thefts stir rumors of the Phantom Thieves, the two transform into Detective Precure, using courage, deduction, and friendship to solve cases and uncover the secret of Anna’s journey through time.

Star Detective Precure! is the 23rd entry in the Pretty Cure franchise, which began with 2004’s Futari wa Precure (Pretty Cure in English). The Toei Animation title has Koji Kawasaki as series director, with Isao Murayama (Mahoutsukai Precure!)) as series composer and Akane Yano (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You) as character designer. Meanwhile, the cast includes:
• Hikari Senga as Cure Answer/Anna Akechi
• Kaede Hondo as Cure Mystic/Mikuru Kobayashi
• Nao Toyama as Cure Arcana Shadow/Ruruka Moria
