STAN dealt blow as Bachelorette U.S. Taylor Frankie Paul season scrapped

ABC in the United States has yanked Bachelorette U.S. starring Taylor Frankie Paul just days before its planned premiere, blindsiding both viewers and local partner Stan.

The late call follows the rapid spread of leaked 2023 footage showing Paul in a violent altercation with ex partner Dakota Mortensen, footage now widely circulating online and reigniting scrutiny around the reality star.

In a statement, Disney Entertainment Television confirmed the decision was triggered by the newly surfaced video and broader concerns around those involved.

“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

The already filmed season had been locked and ready to roll, making the eleventh hour move particularly rare for a franchise of this scale, especially under the Disney owned U.S. network ABC banner.

The fallout extends beyond one show, with production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season five paused days ago as investigations and legal scrutiny continue to unfold.

Closer to home, Stan now finds itself without one of its most talked about reality acquisitions, after heavily promoting Paul’s season as part of a broader push into buzzy unscripted titles alongside Survivor 50.

For now, ABC in the U.S. has not indicated whether the season will be rescheduled or scrapped entirely, leaving a sizeable gap in both its schedule and Stan’s planned local rollout.

Stan has been approached for comment.
