SpaceGodzilla Rumored to Appear in ‘Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’

SpaceGodzilla may be joining Godzilla and Kong in the Monsterverse.

A WGA listing for a film under the code name Alpha has sparked speculation that the monster, first seen in 1994’s Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, will appear in Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.

The project, credited to Supernova writers David Callaham (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) and Michael Lloyd Green (I Am Mother), is listed as “Based on the characters Godzilla and Space Godzilla owned and created by ToHo Co., LTD.”

A modified Godzilla clone of extraterrestrial origin, SpaceGodzilla’s only prior live-action appearance is Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, but the fan-favorite villain has been featured prominently in video games, comics, and other Godzilla media.

Grant Sputore (I Am Mother) is directing Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, which entered production in May for a March 26, 2027 release from Warner Bros.

The sixth film in the Monsterverse franchise is said to feature several new human characters alongside the iconic Titans as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.

Dan Stevens will reprise his Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire role as kaiju expert Trapper alongside Kaitlyn Dever (“The Last of Us”), Jack O’Connell (Sinners), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Matthew Modine (“Stranger Things”), Alycia Debnam-Carey (“Fear the Walking Dead”), and Delroy Lindo (Sinners).

Before Supernova, the Monsterverse will continue to expand with “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” Season 2, premiering February 27, 2026 on Apple TV+.
