SOUTHERN CROSS AUSTERO doubles down on live and local line-up for 2026

Southern Cross Austereo has today confirmed its 2026 programming slate, retaining its core Hit and Triple M line-ups as the network enters a new era under the Seven tie-up.

The announcements signals a focus on stability at a time of wider change across the audio and broadcast sector, with SCA again placing live and local content at the centre of its strategy across metro and regional markets.

The confirmed line-up follows a period of leadership change at Southern Cross Austereo, including the mid-2025 departure of long-serving executive Dave Cameron after a 32-year career, with Cameron recently announced as joining ARN as Director of Content for its metro radio stations.

It also comes immediately after the completion of SCA’s merger with Seven, which has seen Jeff Howard assume the role of Managing Director and CEO of the combined business, while former SCA chief executive John Kelly transitions into the role of Group Managing Director, Audio.

Network outlook

Matthew O’Reilly, SCA Head of Broadcast Content, said the company was entering 2026 with confidence in its on-air mix, positioning live and local announcers as central to radio’s ongoing relevance across platforms.

“Live and local announcers and content are at the core of what sets radio apart, wherever or however audiences consume content.”
