South Boston native Thomas White is lacing up his sneakers for a big challenge this spring — the 2026 Paris Marathon in April — and he’s doing it for a cause that means a lot to the neighborhood.
Thomas is running to support Colin’s Joy Project, the South Boston–based nonprofit founded in memory of Colin McGrath. The organization continues to honor Colin’s legacy by creating joyful spaces and programs for families throughout the community.
Growing up in South Boston helped shape Thomas’s appreciation for volunteering, looking out for your neighbors, and building strong community ties — values that Colin’s Joy Project represents every day.
Running has also become an important part of Thomas’s life, giving him a sense of purpose and connecting him with a community that shares those same values of giving back. He was captain of the Boston Latin Cross Country Team and was a member of Bucknell University’s Track and Field and Cross Country teams.
Now he’s bringing those two worlds together. By taking on the Paris Marathon, Thomas hopes to raise funds and awareness for Colin’s Joy Project and help continue the work that keeps Colin’s legacy shining bright in South Boston.
If you’d like to support Thomas’s run and the mission of Colin’s Joy Project, every donation helps make a difference for families right here in the neighborhood. You can make a donation here!
Good luck, Thomas! We’ll be rooting for you!
