The Sindh government has declared December 25, 2025, a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, the holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous and semi autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils working under the administrative control of the Sindh government.
The notification said the holiday will not apply to departments engaged in essential services. The notification, dated December 11, 2025, was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah.
It said all provincial government departments and institutions will observe the holiday on Thursday, December 25.
Copies of the notification have been forwarded to relevant federal and provincial departments, including the Establishment Division, Board of Revenue Sindh, Sindh High Court, Accountant General Sindh, police, administrative secretaries, commissioners, and deputy commissioners for information and necessary action.
Quaid-e-Azam Day marks the birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, while Christmas is observed by the Christian community across the country.
