Already matching renowned batters in fewer than a quarter of the games, Minhas’ ascent has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Minhas has not only piled up runs, but he has done so when pressure is at its peak. At the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2025, the right-handed opener dominated the competition, scoring 471 runs in five innings at an average above 150.

His tournament-defining performances included an unbeaten 177 in the group stage and a sensational 172 off 113 balls in the final against India, the highest individual score ever recorded in a Youth Asia Cup final.

Minhas’ third Youth ODI hundred came during the U19 ODI Tri-Series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, where Pakistan posted a commanding 354 for 7.

After a steady start with Ali Hassan Baloch, Minhas formed a match-defining 199-run partnership with Usman Khan, laying the foundation for Pakistan’s total. Minhas top-scored with a fluent 142 off 106 balls, featuring 17 fours and four sixes, before being dismissed.

Usman Khan followed with a well-constructed 121, while Huzaifa Ahsan added valuable late runs to push Pakistan beyond the 350 mark.

With three Youth ODI centuries in just seven matches and a growing reputation for excelling in high-pressure situations, Sameer Minhas is rapidly establishing himself as one of Pakistan’s most exciting young batting prospects.
